I have a couple of question regarding quickchip.
After reading a couple of archives I decided to made contact with quickchip. They claim there is going to be a 24hp gain for M104 engines (on the wheel).
Besides sending the whole computer to them, they will just send me a chip and it will cost me about 500 dollars.
I also ask about the dyno test results and the guy saids that he is currentlly out of town, and as soon as he returns he will fax me the dyno test results.
Do I need to obtain more information before I made purchase ?
Does anyone had experiences with the quick chip ? What exactlly do they do to increase performance ? similar to super chip ?
I remember someone hads all kinds of problems
with quick chip, like engine checking light etc..
Any tips or concerns are welcome.
Your help is greatly apperciated.
Pete regards

Peter,
I've never ordered or tried their product myself. I do know that their customer feedback and general customer service leaves something lacking. After that I chose not to order. The general chip tuner tricks are to advance the timing a little bit and enrich the fuel mixture a bit. Bump the air/fuel/spark map/rates up to work with 92-93 octane gas is also sometimes used. Anything you order I might suggest dyno-ing your car before and after the installation within the warranty period. If the stated gains are there...great. If not, then you may want to send it back. Let us know how it goes.

Hope this helps...>Lee

The 1993 & later M104 engines are Motronic type fuel systems, so chips will make a difference in all around performance. Cars equipted w/CIS systems aren't as easy so change w/chip tuning.

hi.
I was wondering about superchips.
They posted on their website at www.superchips.com that they have an application for Mercedes Benz. Are they going to work in Benz?
Thanks

Good luck dealing with the folks at Super chips! I tried to contact the people there for info a number of times and they really have not idea how to deal with people. I would recommend going to the circus over contact Superchips. At least at the circus you know what the entrance fee is and they do offer refreshments.....

Don't waste you time!

Hi all, I just faxed a letter to Scott (Quick chip) to obtain more information about their products. Warrenty information, return policy etc..
As soon as I receive the answers, I will post it on.
I have also tired to contact superchip, and they really don't know much about Mercedes, so.... I my opinion they are not considerable. By the way, they only carry products for V8 and V12 engines.)
Thank you very much for the inputs! Especially to Benzmac and Lee, who always help me out.
Peter regards
