There was an E36 AMG in every W124 body style.

Check out the January, 2004 issue of Mercedes Enthusiast to read about the E36 AMG.

Gorgeous ride, Dave; I respect the time and effort you put into that project!

With your permission, I would like to post your pictures in a forum on my website; may I?

absotively, posilutely..

be my guest...if you need better files I can email them to you.

It does look a lot better though with the black grill, I simply haven't had the time to take more shots. They took many nice shots for the Star writeup a few months back but the photographer went AWOL with the digital files.

I also went blasphemous on the black grill and mounted one of the colorful period AMG badges (with the lake and apple tree) under the star where the blue MB wreath went. It hasn't weathered too well, so it will have to be replaced soon. I saw a nice black and silver wreath on a 124 in Germany with a black grill.

Thx/Reno:
Can you help with sourcing a rebuilt/used euro 560 engine where you are in Europe?

V8 Wagons in Europe

In the W210 line they made a e430T which seems pretty cool. I'm seriously thinking about getting one and having it converted to US spec if it's not too expensive. I'm currently stationed in Germany and saw a C43T the other day- now THAT has got to be a blast to drive. I'd try one of those, but they never brought that model wagon over, so it'd probably be even more difficult to convert. Just the thought of the sleeper grocery getter gets me excited. Hehehehehe.......

W123 Wagon

Barry Taylor of AMG West in California drives a W123-V8 wagon, and has bought and sold lots of AMG conversions, but he always kept that one.

I don't know what engine exactly it has, but it sports the metal AMG build plate on the body, is lowered, and really hauls A$$!! Has an incredible v8 burble at idle...

The important thing to remember is that it is an honest AMG creation, AMG, All Mighty God !!!

the idea of a haul ass 123 or 124 wagon is very intreguing.

with the 224 rear end i doubt one would use much more fuel than a 300.

i have been looking at my son's 88 300te with a very nice body and interior every day as it sits for sale in front of my house. the gears just keep turning. too bad his has an excellent motor.

course, i suppose i could sell that off to buy a 400e motor.

please somebody stop me before i start another project!

If you don't mind a bastard, how about a Ford or GM V8 into a Mercedes wagon, or sedan, TURNKEY!

AMG must have a soft spot for these E-Class wagons.

Check this out, not as cool as the 6.0L 300TE, but nonetheless a quick mercedes station wagon. The 514bhp E63

Or...you could kick-it 'old school' and drop in an OM606 turbo with a few relatively easy mods, which should get you in the 400 to 500hp range. Just about everything bolts right up.
