Can anyone do burnouts like in the Kleemann pix above?

My ASR kicks on at the slightest wheel spin and from what I've read here there is no way to disable it. So how does the Kleemann guy do it?

You can disable it with a chip or even a paperclip... and a known trick is to use bleach or something under the tires. Ricers are known for this trick in an attempt to justify a wing or exhaust for performances purposes :p

Also you know the Kleeman has probably over 150hp on most of our cars...

For $500 the chip isn't going to happen, but I do have paperclip. Details please........

Actually I don't need to do a burnout, I just need to disable the ASR and it looks like he's done it. It's very annoying when I floor it from a stop, and actually dangerous when I'm trying to avoid being hit, which where I live is almost a daily occurrence.

I can do burnouts like that with my supercharged SEC . It's not too much fun with 18" tires being rather expensive to replace. But, yeah, mine will do that too without bleach or water.

The 16v is one of the few MB's that will spin both tires like that,

If you disable your ASR (Jim's500e mentioned how to do this without the switch or paperclip) any Benz should be able to do this if you brakestand the thing. My question is... why? By the way if you really want a big smoke show (for the camera) you should use ATF not bleach. That is what we used to impress the guys from Monster Garage.

Ok, JimF says: "you can disable the ASR by shorting Pin 1 to Pin 6 in the 38 pin diagnostic connector." But Jim's500E says: ASR will be off as well as ABS." (I'm guessing there's a 50/50 chance this applies to my car as well)
This would be very bad, it only took a week before I owed this cars life to the ABS.

Krash: I do not want to smoke the tires, I just want the very annoying ASR disabled so I can have control rather than a computer designed to help a little old lady in the snow. I'm also looking into tires with better grip. I think with a little more traction the asr may never activate again. Some soft 225-245's maybe....

The W208 has a switch to turn off traction control. Just turn it off and burn rubber

I wish. The ASR switch changes nothing except the yellow triangle light stays on.

I'm buying some fatter and softer tires tomorrow. Yokohama AVS ES100 in 225/50 16. Hopefully this will make a big difference.

Just a quick update if anyone is following this:
My ASR switch on my console now works and can turn off that annoying system. Why it works now I don't know, I was rooting around the console, reset codes, reset the computer and who know what else I tampered with. Whatever I did, I'm much happier now. Now to get rid of that annoying triangle when I disable it....
Also, the new Yokohama tires I bought made a world of difference in traction.
