WOW thats a lot of dedication and work! I have a 95 C230 and the biggest problem is that biodegradable wire coating falls apart. Nice work how long did it take you to do the full restore?

I'm following through your pics one by one and I have a very elementary question from the first page. What did you do to the engine to "wash it up"? Is it safe to use steam in the engine bay of a non-electronic model? My fixer-upper is a 1983 380-SE.
