1971 RHD 300SEL

Hi all. Bought a couple of weeks ago from uk ebay. Heart ruled head and totally under-estimated amount of time this is gonna take.
It seems to of had an interesting life.
Kept with the same family for 37 years and registered in 5 different countries.
But in recent years (since 09) it has had a bit harder life and been left to the elements. They have taken their toll.
So why did I buy it I hear you ask.
Because, W109 300SEL, imo, look awesome, always wanted a V8, like the idea of a handbuilt car. It had to be RHD , I've had too many LHD , and never really been happy with them.
I've always liked the black and chrome look but
my long term plan is to eventually use it for weddings. Hence the white interior and cream roof on this one looks lovely.
Anyhow, that's a long way off. There is lots of hard, dirty work before it will be fit for brides and ladies in waiting.

I'll post pics when it's possible. Karl.

As you know the 600 was the limo. Assume you are just saying that it is so big that you can use it as a limo?

How about some pics. Good luck with it. I had a '70 300SEL 6.3 for many years and loved it.

Says pic posting disabled.
Yeah obviously the 600 is the daddy, but I needed something that is at least semi practical and made financial sense.
Besides the SEL has the same leg room as a classic RR in the rear and looks way cooler! Lol

It may be that you have to be signed in to post pics. Not sure.

Pic loading still disabled? ??
Resto is going well.
Been a few weeks but welding is nearly finished.
Two more door bottoms, it'll be solid then but still lots to do to make look pretty.
Looking forward to getting into the engine maintenance.
