Today's progress... not sure how to tackle the hole in the rear. There isn't anywhere to weld onto so I was thinking about rivets or fiberglass. Another option is adhesive. Any suggestions?

Ended up welding the patch on from the underside. Not perfect and still needs a lot of touch up but its covered. Also found another bad spot at the sunroof drain that was totally hidden by the undercoating. This spot is going to get POR-15 and some kind of filler. Its in a really bad spot and I'm not jazzed about cutting there.

Last night I put automotive seam sealer around both welded parts so I can begin re-assembly of the interior.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for protection from the underside to keep the new parts from rusting? I'm a bit wary of spraying on rubberized undercoating since that might start this whole process again. Currently the underside is coated with three coats of POR-15.

Yesterday's progress...

Installed Dynamat on the floor in the main cabin, got the interior back in and gave the car a good wash. I installed the front seats from the 95 parts car I sold a few years ago and they are MUCH more comfortable than the ones I removed. I also put new floor mats in which I got from eBay. It looks like these are NOS since there is a bit of discoloration on two of them

Back on the road in time for summer

Is miracle UV-stable? Because I don't think POR is (not that it matters much for your application).
