1982 Orient Red W123 240D/4 speed

Well, after years of lusting after w123's and some coercion on the front of a few friends, I finally secured my first Mercedes.

I present my 1982 240D with a factory 4 speed transmission, manual windows, power sunroof, Orient Red paint, and tan MBTex interior.

The previous owner purchased the car in November of 2013 as a commuter vehicle. Fortunately, he took good care of the car (aside from the body, we'll get to that in a moment). He put roughly 70k miles on the car, with the odometer accurately reading 222k miles. Michelin tires, 3k mile oil changes, rear end and trans lube 40k miles ago, rebuilt throttle linkage, rebuilt brakes, serviced the sunroof, and the list goes on...

Current list of work needed:
Repair/lubricate driver's door lock cylinder
Oil change (Rotella 15w-40)
Transmission lube change (Redline MTL)
Differential lube change (75w-90 synthetic)
New windshield (I have a new Mercedes seal) to replace the cracked one
Repair driver's wheelhouse and rear wheel arch rust
Rebuild shift linkage (horrendous binding from side/side)
Radio (not sure if I'll source an original or go modern DIN 1)
Finish R134a conversion (sanden compressor already installed)

I paid $800 with a clean title and a trunk full of spare parts on Friday, 5/11/18. I cannot complain at all and have put nearly 200 miles on the car this weekend (5/13/18).

I added this plate frame that I got off of a scrapped W126 in the junkyard (I have a second one along with the dealer badge that will be installed eventually. The car was sold new at Herb Gordon Mercedes and Oldsmobile in February of 1982 and still retains the dealer badge and markings in the manuals. Yes, the sticker is getting removed.

I'm in Kingsville MD.

I'd say steal is a loose term- the body has its fair share of rust but its not structurally shot.

All Star Glass ~ they have shops all over the L.A. basin .

Call first to make sure they'll order in your new windshield, take the rubber grommet along and go have breakfast, they'll get 'er done in jig time .
