Well first diagnosis has been done: - All the fluid (some are factory even) - All coolant hoses are hard as wood. Radiator need also to be replaced and thermostat. - Dreaded Vacuum issue. - fuel guage wapping under 1/2 (cluster replacement time anyway) - High beam isnt working (some electric fault) - Indicator lens are broken - A/C is missing some lines and condensor - Valve cover is sweating like mad - Rust (common places) needs rewelding - Front windscreen has a big star in it - Car is left lower than right? - Paint is bad maybe a detailing needed - Interior some bits needs to be redone - Some of the plastic interior parts are broken - Needs lubrication (all hinges and hood release) - Front left makes a noise when steering (steering joint?) - Diesel purge --------------------------------------------------- Upgrades: - Rear headrests - RPM meter original Diesel (so need the diagnosis plug etc.) - Final drive upgrade - Flexdisc - Shocks - steel brake lines - wheels (barocks - instrument cluster - Some of the Wiring - battery vent (so the tray wont rust anymore) That's for now. Here are the parts and fluids I bought before the car came in: Some Original tools (hooks) I bought 15 years ago. Last edited by jsp300D; 08-15-2018 at 09:22 PM. |

Just had some time to work on the W123 so started with the fluids and filters:
Old air filter had to be cut when removing it. Battery vent extended. Need to have a look where to put the tube. Some pictures from the backseat and C pillar. Last edited by jsp300D; 08-15-2018 at 09:23 PM. |

I want to adjust the time back to winter time and guess what? The adjuster breaks off
Tried to reglue it Then I tried to make two clock one by using the w116 print and the w123 mechanism. Left one is W116 300sd and right one w123 300d Both has the same resistor on the tester. tried to replace all the components but, doesn't work. This one works: Comparison of the chip blanks 120ohm on the main resistor 118.9 is <5% is pass. Then I greased everything so that it won't rust Back to one piece I replaced the caps before already. Then I tried to hook up the tachometer to see if it works: Fan 1500rpm > tachometer 1500rpm |
