UPDATE - ALL 2000-2006 S and CL Clusters now covered

Mercedes has just extended the warranty on all 2000-2006 S and CL to cover defective clusters for 10 years from the in service date.

Just received the mailing yesterday.

Had the same problem on my W220 and it turned out...

Had the same problem on my W220 and it turned out to be the tie rods. Both rods can be replaced in a matter of about 1 hour plus cleanup and alignment. Very simple job.

didnt know their was a seven speed fluid...however, at a minimum you must use the Mercedes ATF.
Dont use off the shelf ATF or you will have problems.
