I have been trying to repair my alpine, and I have hit a bit of a wall. Symptoms were distortion, and one channel would not work until the radio warmed up, but would then play with light distortion...

I'll go with those above who recommend spark plug wires. I had a similar misfire/jerking at low rpm's and idle and a new set of wires cleared it up. In my case, watching the engine around the spark...

I seem to think similarly to the others in that this is fuel related. Fuel pump relay is a good place to start.

It would definitely help to know what work has been done so far.
