1998 ML 320 - Engine light on and off

I have 41K miles and.. my check engine light goes on sometimes and then it goes off.

I am taking the car in for a diagnosis. Anyone else have this problem.

My fuel tank does the same thing

I also do not hear the suction when you open your gas cap and... my check engine light goes on at times and off other times.
