There are pins that are called eccentric, if they have wear they will cause this problem. I know this because of my wifes car did the same thing.

I have one also. Mine runs 3100 RPM at 70 MPH. Check The vaccum system very good. Mine has 321,000 miles on it and still going. Rebuilding the vaccum pump is a good idea. Check all fluids and renew...

I have an 83 also, and I purchased it for the same price. It is a solid car and well worth the money. It is my first diesel and I love it. Mine has 319,000 miles on it and was rebuilt 60,000 miles...

I have an 83 300SD and have had this problem also. Make sure it is not dirty. The conversion kit is expensive. You will need to solder the connections. I hope this helps

I have a 83 300 SD with 319,000 miles on it. The cars acceleration with the AC on is terrible at low speeds. Any suggestions.
