I searched again and found that it went through the frame and into the inside passenger foot area and connected to the JETTRONIC box.

Before I read your message I had taken 12v to the valve while engine off and I could hear the valve piston clicking.Should I still try to hook up when at Idle?

Im getting 12v to the idle control valve,when I disconnect there is no difference in rpm,its still around 1800.

As far as I know,there is no EGR valve on the 85...

As far as I know,there is no EGR valve on the 85 380sl.Ive looked in all the online parts places and there is no listing.You may want to question that mechanic of yours.

noisy air pump at cold engine start,quiets down after warm up.can i lubricate this to quiet it down?just started doing this 2 days ago. engine has 67k...thanks any help appreciated.
