Just went through this. Twice. Ignition Control Unit, I'll bet. Front driver side fender. Bought a Hueco unit lasted about a year, then died.
Just bought Programa remanufactured Bosche for $80....

Have passenger door panel off (82 380SL), troubleshooting an annoying *thunk* inside panel. Found this loose part at bottom of inside door. Looks like it might hold window as the L-shaped "hook"...

Idles good until air pump kicks in, then starts missing / rising as engine warms.
