Not the plastic one. I am looking for a stainless steel one. Something that will protect the oil pan (and indirectly the engine) if you hit something while driving.

I would also vote for the W126. There is something classy about them.

I have an -85 SD and an -86 SDL. Both are fantastic cars in my opinion.

How do I best preserve the leather seats on my -86 300SDL?

I normally use saddle soap, but is there something else I should use to delay cracking of the leather seats?

I have found a gold plating business in Torrance. Will check if it is cheaper to replate the two emblems istead of buying new ones.

Today I purchased my 300SDL. It is an -86 with only 148K and one owner. The car is in mint condition both mechanically and interiorly and has been religiously maintained.
