I would 1st ask why where your brakes steaming hot? Maybe you have one or more stuck calipers. Were all the brakes eqauly hot?

Another thing to check would be the vacuum pump.

The only things that are differant is the pullys and the wires on the back(flat pulley on newer models and a stud to the charging...

Have you varified that the new fan clutch is working as it should? Could it be disengauging at high revs(80mph)? At highway speeds the fan should be capable of helping air flow.
