i dont think its the joint...the whole drive axel asembly moves about (what seems like) half or 3/4 of an inch between the differential and wheel (sliding piston like)

approved oils for sls w124

i see a list of approved oils here and there including aero1010
and tellus15 etc...
in trying to hunt these down i came across a milspec same rated oil called royco756a seems to be somewhat easier...

87 300td wont start...think its ignition relay from "park"

i barely know what im talking about ...but i do suspect that its the "breaker" or the "relay" from the "park" position in the shifter... in other words the car doesnt seem to recognize that the car...

i have cracked dash blue 83 300td too

i actually found a blue one of those coverlay things in the junk yard and got it for about 12 bucks....but i also have a perfect black dash that im gonna take to a vinal shop and have the color...

thanks to all i got the hydro suspension all back in order

i was able to get all my parts including accumulators and struts from a junk yard for very little money...then i drove to tijuana and had them put everything in...springs,struts and springs for 50...

and its the rear hydropneumatic suspension strut... in my wanderings ive seen some that are conected by regular bolt assembly...but it seems the 83's and above have this brass saucer thingy...

its the rear on an 83 300td and its the brass saucer shaped connection with the rubber bushing/washer under it...the saucer has a flat alan wrench screw in the middle of it that is definetely gonna...

i can not get the strut off my 83 300td seriously

i have the wierd brass flat saucer brace thing on the top of the hydropneumatic strut with the equally flat brass screw thing in the middle of it all this on top of a rubber bushing kind of washer...

...i did get them out today and took em up to the window to pay and nearly fainted when he only charged me 4 dollars each.... so far thats 8bucks for the shocks...,5 bucks for the pump and 10 dollars...

seems like lot of people have trouble with these (me included) when i do a search ive found theres lots of stuff about people with problems but i havent found anyone whos resolved the problem either...
