I agree with omegabenz.

I have a 300E and Installed the Bosch euro's on my W201. The light pasterns are excellent. I wouldn't put the cheep o lights on my 300E even if some one gave me a pair.

You didn't mention the condition of the rear flex disc that carries the torque load to the diff. So is it possible that you don't know that is the most comon failure in that area or is it new or ok ?

Sounds like your lock assembly is on its way out. If your car has the factory alarm it won't be cheep. If it is still working sometimes you can swap it over to the pass side and us the rary used one...

The issues with th VW don't suprise me at all. However Mercedes doens't seem to have a history of electrical issues except a bad run of wire harnesses that had bad insulation. Nothing like a BMW...

Also don't use silacone to seal it. cylicone promotes rust. Use a type of body sealer I think your local auto paint supply store will have a good 3M product for you.
