It can also be the vacuum switch. Only way to find out is to apply vacuum to the pod and see if it holds vacuum. If it held vacuum, then it could be the switch or the controller thats not working....

Thanks for the replies guys. Attached are photos of the trap and the smaller bracket. The trap had separated from the flange and the smaller bracket broke into two pieces.

This is the tool i use to check the vacuum pump and brake booster. The metal part came from an old vacuum line and the nipple from a vw jetta egr. I think the hose is 3/8" ID. Works good.

I believe thats what they call R4 lite. The only bolt that you will need is the one for the manifold. Only problem is where the terminals for the coil will be oriented. You dont want it on the bottom.
