The non uniform welds around the perimeter tells me that it was rebuilt at some point. That is the normal practice. Cut it in half clean and refresh the guts and the re-weld it around the perimeter....

There are 3 raised mounting places on the TC....
There are 3 raised mounting places on the TC. Each have 2 holes to receive securing bolts. These mounting spots stand out from the TC. What they are saying is from the top of the TCs mounting plate...

If the leak occurs only with the motor running...
If the leak occurs only with the motor running that would say the seating of the Torque convertor is suspect. As that is when the transmission pump fills the TC with fluid. That is why you check...
