The non uniform welds around the perimeter tells me that it was rebuilt at some point. That is the normal practice. Cut it in half clean and refresh the guts and the re-weld it around the perimeter....

There are 3 raised mounting places on the TC. Each have 2 holes to receive securing bolts. These mounting spots stand out from the TC. What they are saying is from the top of the TCs mounting plate...

I hope not. Vehicle has 290,000 miles on it So it was probably time anyway. I was able to keep my old transmission so perhaps I will rebuild it I don’t have it for back up.
