I'm certainly not an expert on this but I would guess that with a good flush before you put it back together it will be ok. I think that the oil residue will prevent corrosion so don't flush it out...

For the noise, take the back seat out and see if the cover for the shock on the right is off. It's just a plastic cap that's maybe 4 inches across, if it's off you get a lot of noise from that area....
