Folks,

Thanks for your input, advice and support. As it turns out, the wheels were bent. McGeorge in Richmond VA replaced them and now my W210 is very smooth at any speed.

Sounds like low refrigerant

Ed,

It sounds like the refrigerant charge could be low. Higher engine speeds mean higher compressor speeds, ie: more coolant circulating. Also higher road speeds means more air moving through...
