Several Dealer Techs lock the car and then do the pad replacement...
Just do NOT open a door as that cycles the SBC pump and...

The oil pan must be removed
Cylinder head must be removed

There is no way to remove a piston in the car without the oil pan and head...

Sounds like the Turn Signal / Wiper switch and or the contact ring for the T/S Wiper/SRS behind the steering wheel..Take the steering wheel off to inspect the switch first...

Also the 126 does...
