Trans swap question!!

I have recently purchased a 1985 300TD. The wagon has a bad trans, thus a swap. Will the flywheel and transmission (4 speed) from a 1971 220 Diesel work? Would really love to make the wagon a manual...

220 Diesel died, no restart?

So my 1971 220 Diesel has quit. Looking for a starting point to get it back up and going. Engine still cranks. spins free as before. Right before it died there was a big black cloud and then it quit....

No luck with new key, had to "drill" out the assembly today. Don't have other assembly in hand yet to compare. Most likely gonna go to the MBZ deal and look up part numbers for now
