Corrosion also can cause a lower than spec measurement.....check for any dimmer lights and run a piece of fine sandpaper over the connectors....mine was acting up and it was a slightly corroded bulb...

That is the EHA valve. It THINK is monitors the fuel/air mixture and reports back to the ECU. I replaced on my 87 560SL and it made all the difference in the world with smoothing out the idle.
