Etched Aluminum cam caps?

I should start my own column of dumb mistakes. Here goes. I put the cam caps from an OM603 head into a container of degreaser, forgot about them, came back the next morning and found them turned...

Sorry, Homer Simpson moment. It was dark, no flashlight, and I didn't see the pedal had worked loose from the linkage at that point. Thanks for the reply.

Driving the mighty 300SDLon a surface street at low speed, I floored the accelerator and something seemed to break. The pedal went almost to the firewall and now has only the smallest bit of travel....

FUSE VS OVP

Yes, indeed, one must check the fuse first, rather than just junking the thing. I did, but I can't prove it.

Further to this thread, got the blower motor out, tested it with 12v to the two motor leads, no nothing. I had tested it in place as well, but hoped I was wrong.

Confirming my 300 SDL blower motor problem

The mighty 300SDL climate blower motor has stopped blowing.

OM603 #22 head condition question

Good points. Can't imagine what puts a hole there, so will have to ask.

OM603 #22 head condition question

The mighty '87 300SDL has cracks. The context here is that I can't afford the going rate of $1000 to $2000 for a good re-manufactured head or a good core & rebuild. A good custom racing head shop...
