See the attached. This conversion was done to a 1983 300CD with a recently installed SD turbo engine. After driving it for about two years iIt is now happily in Texas.

It is probably not necessary to cut the rods if the conversion is for a 240D. However, for the 300D the rods will have to be extended if the rods were removed from a 240D. And 300D manual...
