How to reset IR key remote - 97 C36

I replaced the batteries on the remote and now the car won't start with the key. Engine turns for 1 second then dies. Engine will start with valet key.

Does anyone know the procedure for resetting...

No, they have the standard leveling screws on the back of the lights. The assemblies are attached firmly to the car and don’t move at all – until I hit a pothole or deep crack in the road.

Yes, they should fit a 300e. C class & E class wheels are the same. I believe the offset is 35.
