oh, to add the dented oil pan is probably 3/4 of an inch in depth but its big like a third the pan and it also doesnt leak any oil.

240d running rough

i recently replaced the motor mounts in my 1983 240d that ran perfectly only had worn out collapsed mounts. In the process i dented my oil pan and i think it may have ruined the way my oil circulates...

my 240 like all 240's i have seen has a big clock, no tach.... It hasn't worked since i got the car.... Anyone ever looked into fixing one before? If so how?

I have heard rumors of the ability to tighti the steering box on a 240d. Mine's an 83.

240d Exhaust Issue

So 240d has the sound of an exhaust leak it appears to be coming from the rusty down pipe (or header pipe). But i'm not exactly sure, Are these problematic? or should i keep looking before i replace...

how do you tighten the serpentine belt on a 240d

I have an 83 240d how would i tighten up the serpentine belt? I have been told the three 17 mm bolts on the back of the alternator, but what do i do with them?

Metallic Whistle coming from car at speeds over 50mph

My 300SDL makes a whistle that sounds like its coming from the front driver's side when traveling over 50 mph...

The Seat back on the driver's side of my 87 SDL has a little play in it and moves when i brake and accelerate. Is there any way i can tighten this up and make it not have so much play? it bothers me...

I put it into the line labeled TRA that comes out of the blue circle labeled vacuum. I had somebody sit in there and rev the engine for me so i could get readings at different rpms

I am trying to figure out what mercedes recommends be done for the factory spec adjustment as far as that bowden cable goes? Its the cable for the throttle linkage to the transmission.
