Should be around 13 volts.

If it's not try swapping the battery, or jump starting the car.

If thats fine, then it could be the starter solinoid...

FWIW I had the clutch out of my 300E for 6 months...

FWIW I had the clutch out of my 300E for 6 months when repairing a sheared crank key. It sat Horizontal in the boot for this time. It's still fine.

UPDATE

New (Used) Balancer and hub arrived today.

Checked it out, slides over the front of the crank and sits pretty snug.

Doesn't fit Really Really tight as I've read else where, but it definatly...

Not sure what year they changed from a fixed tensioner to an automatic one. I think that one has an automatic tensioner.

Any way, look below the water pump pulley, and you will see a flat pulley....
