It looks like the wire goes to the tach. It seems weird to me that one side of the tach is connected to a "hot all the time" terminal, but that is what is going on.

My guess is one of the vacuum lines got disconnected. It wasn't noticeable in the test drive was it? Is it only between 1 and 2?

I think checking the ATF is supposed to be with the tran at...

Mine won't get to that temp without a few minutes of hill climbing. Otherwise, it is usually pegged at 80. I think your planned maintenence is the was to go.

Are there O-rings on the lines of the reciever/dryer?

I am fixing up my ac on an 87 SLD. It seems like most of the AC pressure lines have o-rings where they meet components.

When I took off the old reciever/dryer, it didn't seem to have any orings...

I was just concerned that the old one was labeled R134a and I thought that I might have a converted system. I bought a new valve from fastlane and it looks similar or identical to the original one...
