For what it's worth...

My 240D manual gets a pretty decent 24-27 MPG usually. I generally do a full engine tune-up (valves, purge, etc) twice a year; once before the cold weather sets in (where I also switch to 10w-40) and...

This would sure save on tumbler and leaf wear....I found myself...

I live near Everett and work in Bothell, occasionally driving down to Northgate/U-District to hang out with friends. I'll keep a look-out for this one, buddy!

Around here, we have "speedometer check areas" on the freeways, usually in the 70+ MPH stretches. Each marker is EXACTLY one mile apart, to the inch. I like to go by these at various speeds: 70, 60,...

I'd think about replacing or rebuilding the injectors here soon. These are generally a 100k mile maintenance item. Also, I agree, check the driveline and differential; these are probably some of the...

Front suspension/steering rebuild - parts list

I've been toying with the idea of rebuilding my front suspension/steering for a little while now. It used to be a passing fancy that I'd have once in a while, but now my UCAs are creaking....bad....

So correct me if I'm wrong...alternator needs more power = more tension on the V-belt = engine has to work harder to turn belt...? Same logic behind the A/C compressor deal?

But how does the alternator "load" the engine? Like I said, I thought the electrical system and the engine mechanical systems...

Odd oil pressure issue (79 240D)

Early-model 240D. Whenever I have any electrical devices on, be it headlights, blower motor, radio, etc, the oil pressure drops. You can hear it in the engine idle and visibly see it on the cluster...

I think I heard about this...I work near Seattle (Bothell, actually) so I'd be game. Is this the one where they're turning used markers into bio-fuel?

I guess I would have to take my 240D on a road trip down South to test this...I've only driven it in Washington, rain capitol of the universe.

If this is true, though, it makes me happy to know...
