It turns out you don't need to bleed air from the brakes. The reservior just pops off out of two holes feeding into the master cylinder. The holes are upright so the fluid just pools--no air gets...

Also, if you didn't put in exactly the right mercedes bulb, it'll flash faster, because it's sucking off more juice.

I think it's actually called a hood seal. It's maybe 8 inches wide and molds itself to the heater blower cover (which I'm assuming is that black piece above the firewall) when you shut the hood.
