My advice is put a band aid on it and leave it be. I have done this to many nails and they always grow back just fine.

I wouldnt worry about it. I have all four tires plugged. A couple have been there for 3-4 years. Have one tire with 3 plugs (in different locations).

When you remove the four bolts the valve will come right out. I had to remove mine and was surprised to find no surprises in it.
