if there's a spark, then the CPS is fine.

try checking the spark visually. pull out a sparkplug and ground it with the HTleads connected and engine cranked. see also if the splugs are fouled up...

generator charge indicator light

quite simple.

when you turn "on" the ignition switch: battery positve>light>alternator - and light is "on".

this positive voltage will also excite the magnetic field on rotor to start charging....

M.B.DOC was right! He knows that model very well. Take his advise and say goodbye to stalling. Check that fuel pump relay or fuel system.
