Cool down period is at idle. so taxiin will count...

Cool down period is at idle. so taxiin will count as the cool down period. We ussally try to use the left engine only for taxi so the right is cooling down.

All the oil in the MD80 is synthetic.

Interesting post. I have not in the 14 years of owning Turbo diesels allowed the turbo to cool prior to shutting the engine down. But not a bad idea. My MD80 calls for a 3 minute cool down at idle...
