Location of hand primer pump on 1976 300D (W115)

Pump is mounted onside of fuel filter

and not the ip pump.

I did get to see another 1976 that the owner had removed this pump, but there wasn't time to see/figure out how it all was done.

So I think the answer is not "update"...

Thank you all, I just didn't know if this was stock or a modification.

Should I treat this "rare" hand primer any differently because I suspect it may be causing an air leak? If I have to...

Can someone tell me where the hand primer pump on a 1976 300D (W115 Chassis) is located?

Mine in attached to the large fuel filter, but because I'm having so much trouble locating a replacement...
