I did mine, on a 617, with heat shrink tubing as the heat of the engine caused the electrical tape to eventually pull away and left a sticky mess. It was a little more trouble, unsoldering the end...

Possibly the temp sensor on the thermostat...

Possibly the temp sensor on the thermostat housing? (That is the one that delays the CCU and blower until sufficient heating.)
