I am almost 100% sure that your original compressor is variable-displacement. TXV is Thermal eXpansion Valve, and meters the refrigerant into the evaporator depending on the refrigerant outlet...

If you have a variable-displacement compressor and a TXV and everything is working, your compressor is not supposed to cycle.
