CLOCKWISE?? OR COUNTER-CLOCKWISE?? As in the Bowden cable adjustment...which way did you turn the adjusting screw to make it do what??

Others may want to know before trying it. I never can...

That sounds like the primer pump to me!

Look at your linkage on top of the valve cover....there is a flat pivoting metal plate...right in there you should see a white plastic threaded screw...
