Hmmm. Odd. i don't get it. You have taken out the larger bolt from below and then the two smaller bolts from above. Three bolts on each side? And then you jack up the engine and the whole car raises?...

On my '83 240D there are 3 mounts - the two primary mounts on each side and then a "anti-vibration T-mount" that is located just behind that oil pan.

You do not need to remove the lower T-mount...
