just posting pictures so you have a size reference for the PC bore. The outer diameter should be 16mm.
as others have stated, it is easy to imagine that is has been driven into the piston...

there is a tool for it. Winmut and other members have made their own and it worked. I tried, and found it to be insufficient. Search for home made PC removal.
hopefully winmut will see this.
