Everyone should remember that the front seal on most compressors is designed to be lubricated by an intentional leak at the main shaft.... so AC's should be started about once a month even in winter...

This depends on several things... it is NOT...
This depends on several things... it is NOT determined by temperature in the official MB AC FSM....
It is a general function test... there are charts I believe ... and you have to accomplish...
