The question is ... when changing a 240 from manual to auto or the other way around... do the speedometers need to be changed or altered to conform with MB ' advice' for the current configuration.

Where did you see me say anything about max engine speed ?

We are talking shift points and torque curve changes which can be altered by the cam lobes.

due to slip... but would a different cam cause the same situation as to the hash marks ? Did you see it written by MB somewhere that that was the cause of the different placement of the hash...
