Thanks for the advice. I know the engineeers calculated air flow etc..when they desgined the intake system...BUT the brackets break-fail and cause aggrevation...The original air filter bracket on...

Well I finally took the challenge and did the head gasket on my 300SD. found two points of interest on the old head gasket...

Did a poor mans' valve job..drill and good ole' Clover near stem...
