I'm not 100% sure; I guess the brake fluid could potentially contaminate the vacuum system - it is a pretty good paint remover and so perhaps could speed rust within the booster and anywhere else it...

If you follow the advice in the FSM you are meant to chuck the booster if it is contaminated.
Make sure you get all of the brake fluid out of it.

Heat does indeed kill the cutting edge - have a look on youtube and watch some hardcore machine shop milling and drilling action - there will be a lot of coolant being sprayed on the working area...
