A timing chain would certainly be no where near those numbers! I imagine a timing chain, tensioner, and guides would be less than $500.

Something certainly sounds weird...my throttle also seems much more responsive than yours, and also more smooth at the higher rpms. Of course I am looking to have my injectors rebuilt soon to get rid...
