That tumbler is for models with the black metal screw on cap from 1978? through 1985. Not absolutely sure of the 1978 year start.

Not normal to always change both at the same time but the car is 35 years old and springs will start sagging. Shocks only last about 30K to 40K miles depending on how you drive.

As far as I know that is just a casting number on the head. Those wheels won't fit the front of a 560SL without spacers to clear the calipers. IMO too much trouble for little if any value.

At most the pump is only activated for a second or two when first switched on. On some it does not come on until cranking. You can try connecting 12V directly
