The 4.7 can easily go 300K - mine has. Strange for a dealer to say that about an exhaust manifold. Even if it did get broken I would think you could get a boneyard manifold for almost nothing.

Long shot, but there is a vacuum hose manifold behind the airbag which should have been a glove box. I had one hose come loose from there once. Worth checking.
