Hello - does anyone know if the automatic transmission from a 1990 4-matic, will fit into my 1986 300e? Same 103 engine in both - and minus the transfer case of course. Thanks very much.

I would suggest the amplifier may have poor solder connections. I have fixed one amplifer by re-melting the connections on the printed circuit board. Took some time and was a risk of having it not...

While not a 4matic - I did my 300e mounts recently and brutal to loosen the bolts. Ended up having to pry the socket handle with a small crowbar against something (not enough room for any leverage)...

well - I had a similiar cold start issue. tried many thing's but turned out to be the cold start valve. I wold check the resitance of the unit - and I'll try and get the ohms range - but mine way...

I did not replace it - the new connections seemed to cure the problem. I know for 86 the 'weather' protection for those relays behind the battery was very poor - in fact the newer design of plastic...

my ovp relay was fine but, the connections it plugs into were completely corroded. A quick trip to the local wreckers, a pair of wire cutters, and a smashed 89 300e later - then a couple of hours...
